It is situated on the banks of Warta River, with the view of the oldest part of the City, in direct neighborhood of Poznan University of Technology, approximately 1.5 km walk from the Poznań Old Market Square and 2 km from the city center where a lot of hotels and hostels can be found.

Arrival and transport

Access to the building CBPIO (from Berdychowo Street):

  • own transport; after reaching the Berdychowo street, pass the building of the Faculty of Chemical Technology on the right side (University of Technology), and the lecture-conference  center of Poznan University of Technology on the left, turn right down the Przystań street. Then drive along the Warta, until the roundabout. At the roundabout, turn right (first exit) and drive along the CBPIO building. Access to the complex is at the end of the building.
  • by public transport from the railway/bus Main Station: You should go to the tram stop “Poznań Główny” and take the tram number 6 in the MIŁOSTOWO direction (timetable MPK). Get off at the “Baraniaka” stop (the seventh consecutive stop), walk across the Jana Pawła II street in the north direction, then go down the Jana Pawła II street directly to the building.   • by public transport from the Ławica airport: Select the bus “L” (timetable MPK), which will take you to the main railway/bus station. Then go to the tram stop “Poznań Główny” and take the tram number 6 in the MIŁOSTOWO direction (timetable MPK). Get off at the “Baraniaka” stop (the seventh consecutive stop), walk across the Jana Pawła II street in the north direction, then go down the Jana Pawła II street directly to the building.   • taxi:  we recommend selecting one of the registered corporations, eg. (+48)61 8 222 222 (+48)61 8 519 519 61 8 222 333. Please do not choose a taxi without a prior phone contact! (Taxi stand at the train station is very expensive)

  • Porta Posnania – interactive and multimedia presentation of history and art of the region, from early years until modern times. It is located in the oldest part of Poznan where the Warta and the Cybina rivers cross. You can choose to visit only the exposition or extend your visit to Archdiocesan Museum and Archeological Reserve Genius Loci (joint ticket).   • National Museum in Poznan – holds a collection of Polish as well as European art ranging from ancient times up to modernity. The building itself is a monument. More information: http://www.mnp.art.pl/en/museum/
  • Viewpoint on the castle – the tower is 43 m tall, so one can enjoy panoramic view of Poznan. Practical information: Sunday 11:00 – 18:00, Monday closed, Tuesday & Wednesday 9:00 – 15:00, admission: 12 PLN (free on Tuesday), location: Góra Przemysła 1 (at the Old Market)
  • KontenerART – culture, art and recreation center upon the riverbanks of Warta River. A place where one can take part in exhibitions and creative workshops, listen to live music and chat with artists or local people. Open every day from 12 A.M. until 3 A.M.
